Statement on Rhino Translocation and Deaths in Tsavo

The recent deaths of nine black rhinos (Diceros bicornis), a Critically Endangered species is a singularly horrific and unprecedented event in the history of Kenya’s wildlife and conservation efforts. While the Conservation Alliance of Kenya laments the tragedy, CAK also welcomes the news that the government has suspended the exercise and launched a thorough investigation by an external independent team.
