The CAK Board has been successful in securing funds to allow it to appoint a Secretariat to the Alliance, and to commence with more active, vital and robust programming in support of the Kenyan conservation agenda.
Towards this end, we have set in motion three agenda items in support of the Alliance. These are in keeping with our Constitution and Articles of Association:
- Formation of a Secretariat. The CAK Board will use this grant to appoint a Secretariat. The Secretariat will serve as the contact point for members, and manage the day-to-day affairs of the Alliance.
- Selection of a Director/CEO for the Alliance. The Board will share a public announcement soliciting applications for this important role within a new CAK secretariat. We encourage you to share the job description widely. We are seeking applicants who can start in this important leadership role in November 2018. The contract is for two years. The Director will serve as the secretariat to the Board and lead day-to-day activities on behalf of the Alliance.
- We are seeking office space. Part of our agreement with donor is that we will be able to secure office space for the secretariat over the next two years. We are seeking organizations who can offer the CAK secretariat at least two offices with access to a meeting/conference room. There is a small budget to accommodate a contribution to service costs associated with the secretariat. A Conservation organization is preferred, but other organizational arrangements will be considered.
