The First Conference of Conservation NGOs in Kenya was held from January 26th – 28th 2015 at Enashipai Lodge and Spa, in Naivasha. The conference was aimed at promoting collaboration between wildlife conservation NGOs in Kenya. One hundred and three participants from NGOs, government, civil society, community groups and development partners attended.
The CS Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources Dr. Judi Wakhungu opened the workshop and welcomed this initiative which would help Kenya strategically address key challenges facing the conservation sector. An interim committee was put in place to oversee the registration of the Conservation Alliance of Kenya (CAK) and prioritise areas for conservation action, across various themes.
We are pleased to announce that the alliance is now officially registered and a more comprehensive update will be sent out shortly.
