Comments on the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) on the Proposed Standard Gauge Railway Project from Nairobi South Railway Station-Naivasha Industrial Park-Enoosupukia, Narok

Members and partners of the CAK jointly compiled comments and recommendation upon revising the ESIA (NEMA EIA/5/2/1296 (SR/821)) submitted by the proponent, the Kenya Railways Corporation (KRC), as prepared by their consultants, Habitat Planners Ltd.

Upon receiving notice in the daily papers on 27th October, 2016, CAK coordinated a response framework, putting together several working groups to tackle they key thematic areas of the ESIA. Feedback or recommendations were received and compiled into a response letter to the NEMA Director General, Prof. Geoffrey Wahungu by the submission deadline of 25th November, 2016.
